Mascot is an inner south and west suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Mascot is located 7 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district and is one of the administrative centres of the Bayside Council. A small part of Mascot is located in the Inner West Council. Mascot is on the north-west side of Botany Bay and contains Sydney Airport.
The first land grants in the area were made in 1835, with market gardening being the main land use. Subdivision followed the construction of Botany Road in 1875 and a municipality known as North Botany was formed in 1888. A racecourse operated in this area in 1904 on land that was formerly owned by the Australian Golf Club. The race course was known as Ascot, named after its famous counterpart in England. Residents wanted the area to have an individual identity and a referendum was held in 1911 to choose between Ascot, and Booralee. An objection from the postal authorities to the use of 'Ascot' led the council to alter the name to Mascot.
In 1920, Mascot was chosen as the site of a public airfield. Nigel Love was leasing 200 acres (81 ha; 0.81 km2) from the Kensington Race club and in 1921 the Commonwealth Government purchased 161 acres (65 ha; 0.65 km2) for this purpose. The first regular flights began in 1924. The suburb became the headquarters of Qantas as its hub in 1935. The Cooks River was diverted away from the area in 1947–52 to provide more land for the airport.
In the early 1970s a large meeting of residents successfully requested that the NSW Builders Labourers Federation place a ban on the construction of town-house type dwellings if there was not sufficient green area retained around them.

These guys provided such an efficient and professional service; I couldn’t have been happier. Even though we were moving from the Central Coast back down to Sydney the guys turned up right on time at 8am after driving up from Sydney. It was a pretty hard move with alot of boxes and stairs at one end but they were friendly and efficient and worked hard all day until the job was finally done at 5.30. The two guys (Tom and Rob) were very experienced, and, most importantly, they were careful with our belongings and everything arrived at the destination undamaged. Thanks for your hard work fellas.

Our moving experience with Mark and Amber was fantastic from the first phone call, they were able to give me hints and tips to make the move a bit smother and the removalist that arrived on the day were amazing, they took great care with all our items and were so professional, no breakages and no damage to anything including walls. We were fully packed, moved and unloaded within 2 and a half hours. I would not hesitate to recommend Sydney City Removalists and I would most definitely use them again..

I knew this was a very professional company from the moment Amber returned my phone call. She was extremely helpful from the start. At the time I had two other companies chasing my business. The only reason I decided to go with SCR is because of Amber’s helpfulness and professionalism. She didn’t harass me but didn’t leave it too long before touching base. The perfect Saleswoman!!! I only prayed that the removalists were just as professional. C.J. and Nick more than exceeded my expectations. They were brilliant! They were polite, professional and down to earth. No request was too difficult for them. Good old-fashioned customer service that you just don’t see these days. On top of that they were genuinely nice guys! I had read the testimonials and thought “what a load of garbage! This company couldn’t be that good. I bet they get their friends to write the testimonials”. I could not have been more wrong as I am now speaking through first hand experience. Thank you to SCR for making our move such a good experience.
